I would like to nominate the Leak setero 20. Ive had it for many years and its always given great results. I had it serviced with new capacitors and resistors which improved it a great deal.
Its funny you mention the leak because my local repair shop has also recommended it. I asked them which amplifier, out of the many through their shop over the years, would they say was the best. Stereo 20 it was!
Hello i am not writting to one up on anyone..... and their particular brand of Audio truth. i had a hand made (in someones work shop) a BP Audio Preamp that used 4, 6922 tubes 2 in the input and 2 in the output i believe ....that is correct it was a dual mono design with a din cord connected to a outboard power supply which had NOS vintage Hammond power supplies i ran it into 2 Cary Cad 40m Mono blocks ( class A ultra linear) the sound was exceptional.... i used this to pre/power my Electro voice Sentry iv(A) speaker's (i still have the speakers) i listen to vintage 50-60's Jazz.... alot of female vocalist... Julie London, June Christie, Anita Oday, Peggie Lee, Lucy anne Polk, Anne Richards,Abbe Lane,Sara Vaughn,Eartha Kitt, Etta James and Etta Jones (it sounded great and casted a spell) oh and Chet Baker, Mel Torme and the serious Jazz lps that Dean Martin did (really). No longer have the BP Auduio Preamp or The Cary monoblocks but i have gear now that sounds as good and i am still enjoying the hobby/my faith. JH
