Cetec Gauss 2101 Hollywood usa

Cetec Gauss 2101

12" mid-bass drivers/speakers from Hollywood usa

Are you sitting comfortably?
I got a pair of these in a job-lot of speakers from a friend. When i saw the lot I was a little shocked by there state but to be fair these have been in a working PA for nearly 40 years with constant use!

12" 8ohm mid-bass from early 70s
Very nice and very rare these days.

No vented center pole on these but fins on the magnet assembly are supposed to keep everything cool. This nice pair are original (no re-coned rubbish). They were very grubby but with a little tlc came up very well!

Plugged them in...
Yes amazing sound! Perfect mid-range for a PA, warm and crisp!

Sadly I cant find any info on these :(

  1. I have gauss speakers and these look identical to the 2841 and 4281(notice the same numbers) and they are rated at 800 watts music program power 400 RMS (pink noise) range to over 5000 kHz they are also a replacement for JBL e120 in Fender lead guitar amp

  2. These may be the earlier models in the 70s if you know they are that old. The 2841 and 4281 are the early 80s numbers of this model. The bass frequency models are the 4280 with ridges on the cone, and rage low to 1500 kHz. Same as bigger diameter 15 or 18 but packed in a 12 inch. Gauss design was concert series with 4 1/8 voice coil and double spider ( 2 spider one extra an inch under)
