I ended up taking them to Wimslow Audio in Leicester. They managed to at least strip down, clean and reassemble the electrostatic units. They rebuilt the crossovers and serviced the high-voltage units. I also had the cabinets restored byAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442334973917047135.post-9381323291747888162023-05-15T20:49:31.286-07:002023-05-15T20:49:31.286-07:00Romanus Shackman can make any DM70 Part + Pannels ...Romanus Shackman can make any DM70 Part + Pannels like new with original parts + he has original e/stat film pannel stretch/tightening jig. Could you recommend a company in the UK that specialise in these beauties please? I can only find a German company.

Thanks again for the article, it made my mind up to buy a pair.

Many thanks,
Charlie.Charlienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442334973917047135.post-66723796553744991632019-11-04T05:07:49.439-08:002019-11-04T05:07:49.439-08:00we have a Bowers & Wilkins 'Model DM70 Con...we have a Bowers & Wilkins 'Model DM70 Continental' Floor standing Speakers with matched centre console arrived and will be going in our Vinyl Records & Music Ephemera Auction on Friday 22nd November in Sheffield.

The estimate for this is £300 to £400 and it can be seen on our website here https://sheffieldauctiongallery.com/forthcoming_preview.htm

There Sheffield Auction Galleryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09911634324489955147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442334973917047135.post-89265419462716197762017-05-10T13:58:46.790-07:002017-05-10T13:58:46.790-07:00Just bought a pair and will use my Musical Fidelit...Just bought a pair and will use my Musical Fidelity A370 to power themAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03242833980768390428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442334973917047135.post-2202453063806164602016-10-03T23:30:59.488-07:002016-10-03T23:30:59.488-07:00As an owner of one of the best speakers on planet ...As an owner of one of the best speakers on planet Earth, i.e. the mighty `B&W DM70, In my experience they sound better with 30+ Watts of solid state Class A, thier large 13 inch bass cones with their mass-adding rubber blocks definitely benefit from the higher damping of such amplifiers compared to valve / tube amplifiers which all have very low comparative damping via their far higher outputMilan Puncerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09402458747080021518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442334973917047135.post-75023123868648901342015-01-22T10:54:11.384-08:002015-01-22T10:54:11.384-08:00Hi Nick, Im certainly no expert but I would think ...Hi Nick, Im certainly no expert but I would think a tube amp would be ok for listening at lower levels but these aren't the most efficient speakers and you may have better results with big solid state gear, Sansui BA-2000 certainly worked well with them indeed.
